Social Security Tax:

- Tax Rate: Remains at 6.2% for both employees and employers.

- Wage Base Limit: Increases to $176,100, up from $168,600 in 2024.

Medicare Tax:

- Tax Rate: Unchanged at 1.45% for both employees and employers.

- Additional Medicare Tax: An extra 0.9% applies to individuals earning over $200,000 and married couples filing jointly earning over $250,000.

- Wage Base Limit: There is no wage base limit for Medicare tax; all covered earnings are subject to the tax.

IRS changed the federal income tax brackets for the 2025 tax year. The IRS has adjusted the income thresholds for each tax rate to account for inflation.
