We purchased the 1099 EZ program to file our 1099's electronically with the
IRS. We sent the 1099's through our approved FIRE account with our TCC
code. This is the first year we have filed this way. We are wondering about
filing a 1096. In the past we always had to file a 1096 with our 1099's. Do
we still have to file a 1096 when we file electronically through the FIRE
system, using a .TXT file? We wanted to make sure there isn't a step we're
missing or if we had to file a paper copy of the 1096. Please advise at
your earliest convenience.
