I have ezcheckprinting software. I woukd like to use the 1099 NEC software. Does this allow me to e-file in California?? Or do I need to buy red form and print on them and mail to IRS?? Please let me know. I need to know what version to buy. I own a real estate company and mortgage company 6 employees. All 1099 NEC. There is no state forms to mail, only IRS if applicable to Efile them to IRS.

1. If you just need to file 1099-nec and 1096, ezW2 software will be a better choice.

2. ezW2 (or ez1099) can print 1099 nec forms Copy 1, 2, B, C on white paper. IRS does not certify the substitute forms. If you will mail the paper forms to IRS, the red forms are required to fill out 1099-nec Copy A and 1096.

3. ezW2 (or ez1099) can efile to federal. But they do not generate the report for state efiling.
