Form 941 data is not correct because it does not match my manual calculation

#1: My ezPaycheck is with last year's 941 form
1.1. IRS releases new Form 941 in february each year. If you are running ezPaycheck in January or early February, you will see the last year's form.
1.2. If you see this issue after Feb, you can update ezPaycheck to get the latest form.
#2: No data in Form 941
2.1. Please make sure you selected the correct date range (ie: 1st quarter) when you view form 941.
2.2. Please make sure you selected the correct report option.
ezPaycheck generates the paychecks and reports by pay period ending date by default. You can change this option if your company uses pay check date.
2.3. Please view "Employee Payroll Detail Report" to make sure you entered the paychecks during that quarter.
- Click ezPaycheck left menu "Forms and Reports", then the sub menu "Reports" to view the report options.
- Select "Employee Payroll Detail Report"
- Select the correct date range(ie: 1st quarter: Jan 1 to March 31)
- Click the "Display" button to view the check list.
#3: Wrong data in Form 941
3.1 Please make sure you selected the correct report option.

- Click ezPaycheck left menu "Forms and Reports", then the sub menu "Reports" to view the report options.
- Select "Employee Payroll Detail Report"
- Select the correct date range(ie: 1st quarter: Jan 1 to March 31)
- Click the "Display" button to view the check list and summary data.
You will see this gross payment in employee report. You will see taxable payment in Form 941 report. If your employees have the protax deducation(s), the taxable income will be lower than the gross income.
3.3 Please check if you have any pre-tax deduction.
When you generate a paycheck, you can view the summary part. If the Taxable Income is lower than the Gross Income, that means you set up some deduction that is exempt from federal and state taxes.
Solution:You can review each dedution details. If the deduction is set up to be exempt from federal and state tax by mistake, please change the option. After you delete the wrong paycheck, you add new paycheck. You will see the correc federal and state tax amount.
