ezPaycheck Payroll: How to Pay an Employee with Yearly Salary and Hourly Rate
ezPaycheck payroll software is very flexible. It can handle paychecks by hourly rate, salary, shift rate, commissions, tips, pay-by-piece, pay-by-load and more. It also prints paychecks on blank stock and pre-printed checks.
Please follow this guide if you need an employee with both yearly salary and hourly rate. For example:
Pay employee with regular salary and overtime hourly pay rate
Pay employee with salary for the regular job and pay employee with hourly rate for the extra job
Step 1. Modify the payment type if needed (optional)
1.1 Click the left menu "Company Settings" then click the sub menu "Wage Setup" to open the Company Wage Setup Screen.
1.2 Check a payment type.
1.3 Click the "Change Name" button.
1.4 Enter the new name
1.5 Click the "Save" button on Wage Details screen.
1.6 Click the "Save" button on Company Wage Setup screen.
Step 2: Add/Edit an employee to be paid by both salary rate and hourly rate
2.1 You can click the ezPaycheck left menu "Employees" then "Add Employee" then add a new employee. Or you can edit an employee profile by clicking left menu "employee List".
2.2 When you add/edit employee profile, please make sure you check the option "Salary Employee".
2.3 Enter the yearly salary rate.
2.4 Enter the hourly rate for the 2nd job.
2.5 Click next and save the changes.
Step 2: Add a new paycheck by salary rate
You can click left menu "Checks" then "New Check" to add a new paycheck. Select this employee from list. EzPaycheck will calculate the taxes automatically. Click "Save Check" button to add a new check.
Step 3: Print paychecks
- Select checks from check list
- Click Print button to print checks
